Introducing : New Logo and Branding

Hello! I have so many great announcements to make!! The first is to introduce my new logo and branding! I've been working with a designer, Ashley Jankowski of For the Love of Creating, who designed and produced our collective vision for my new journey in New England.

Here is a peak at the new beginnings . . .

She's also working on a brand new blog which I can't wait for - bye bye BLOGGER and she's designed many other pieces that fit together with the look she's created for the logo!!! :)

Please check back for some exciting news on a new location for Melissa Mullen Photography!!

Peace and Love from the East!!

Imelda + Raul from Washington

Imelda + Raul came to San Diego last week for some well deserved R&R. Imelda has been serving in Iraq and had an opportunity to take some time away with her husband Raul. They both serve in the Army and have had to be a part for some time.

We got together at the Ivy Hotel where they were staying and cruised around the area downtown together. I'm SO stoked on their session! They brought the love and laughter! I'm just about finished with production for their session and wanted to post a sneak peak.

Imelda and Raul, it was so much fun spending an evening with you two! I hope you enjoyed San Diego and I hope you went to Phil's BBQ! :) Lots of Love!

One month and 7 days later. . .

Hi Hi Hi!! I've been a mega workaholic these days and have been neglecting my photo journal. I just wanted to send a Saturday night hello to let you know a couple of things. . .

1. I've been shooting, shooting, shooting and totally thrilled with the experiences I've had in the past month. To me, it feels more like a week than an entire month so September has gone by like POOOOOF for me.
2. I'll be honest. . .I never expected to be this busy in my first solo year.
3. I couldn't be happier with that decision ;).
4. I have encountered amazing, {some strange} ever evolving people who are teaching me everyday. . .for that I'm very thankful.
5. I've got some HUGE news for ya'll!!! and I just can't wait too much longer to update you.

Stay tuned for a new logo, wedding, engagement and travel photography. Also, stories of a new journey for the next chapter of Melissa Mullen Photography.

For now, I leave just one teaser from a recent wedding that I can't wait to finish.

Zac + Tracy . . . . love, love, love these two. Cried like a little sissy at their wedding. ;)

Thank you to all of the people I've have the pleasure of capturing this summer/fall. I'm amazed by every single one of you and bow down to your love for each other.

Hugs, kisses & wishes of coziness for you. . .

Exploring history . . . {Carnton Historic Plantation in Franklin, Tennessee in October 2007 with one of my favorite people.}

Moments like these . . .

Evenings like these . . .

Seasons . . .

Miss Sienna from San Louis Obispo, CA!

I got together with Sue Merrill, her daughter Stacy and Sienna who is now 15 months. It was a warm one at Balboa Park yet Sienna was feeling fabulous. We rode the carousel together and got dizzy and strolled around the park making Sienna laugh and BOY did she do a great job!

This is one of my favorites!

Thank you Sue, Sienna and Stacey!! I had so much fun with you three!

Hebler Family comes to San Diego!

The Hebler Family is from El Paso, Texas and I had the opportunity to capture their family at Hotel Del, Coronado while they vacationed in San Diego.

Here is Jonathon and Isabella exploring the beach together.

Falb Family comes to San Diego!

I've had the pleasure of photographing this group now for 2 years. I LOVE them all and had a nice evening with them at Hotel Del in Coronado.

Miss Molly Ann from Bloomfield, NJ!

Seeing little one's is always a great way to give me perspective on time. During my trip across the country, I stopped by my cousin's house in New Jersey to visit and see the cutest little one I know, Miss Molly Ann. It's been two whole years since I've seen her and the rest of my family in New Jersey. That's just far too long! Miss Molly is just the best and it was pretty amazing to see how much she's grown!

We made up for lost time pretty fast.

She LOVES my cousin Valerie's sporty car.

And going for walks with her mom.

Zac + Tracy...Take II!

I must feature more photographs from Zac and Tracy's Engagement Session. Love, love, love these two.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Zac and Tracy for your wonderful presence and for your contagious romance!

Big Sur Recap

Yesterday, Mason hung up a big map I had lying around of the United States. It was a nice surprise to come home to after a long wedding day. Basically, the idea is to pin where we've been together, where we want to go and serve as a great reminder that there is so much to see outside of our little world here. It was the first morning waking up and seeing this map which lead me to think about all of the exploring we've done in the past several months. We've seen so much and traveled well over 9,000 miles together. We're very lucky to have found each other at this point in our lives and are able to do all of the things we love to do.

Just like our journey across the country, we two have hit many bumps in the road and bad weather yet all along we've been able to teach each other many life lessons. I woke up very grateful for these past couple of months and wanted to share the Big Sur video that Mason put together. He shot the video, incorporated songs we listened to along our trip and my photographs. We didn't orchestrate or discuss putting these two forms of media together. It happened organically and it's only part 1.

So, if you're at all interested in a "vacation video" please enjoy a view into our camping trip to Big Sur in May 2008.

Zac + Tracy = heaven sent

Zac and Tracy are the ultimate couple to have walked into my world. It was the right time, their wedding day is going to be amazing and their love is so true and so obvious that it makes you feel so different to be around people like them. They are both talented artists and enjoy photography and understand the many elements behind a great image. Mason and I had the pleasure of spending a Sunday evening with them walking around downtown and enjoying Anthology's second floor all to ourselves. There are so many beautiful photographs from their engagement session to share yet I have just one for now.

Thank you Zac and Tracy! It is truly an honor to capture you two at this amazing time in your lives.

Dennistown Maine : Population 30

Highly enjoying our stay in Dennistown Maine with my parents. This place is the ultimate place to relax, breath, kick back and enjoy the people who matter the most. It's been raining here on and off so in between the weather we cruise out on one lane logging roads in search of spotting moose or other critters, eating ice cream cones, making great meals, napping, playing with my Dad's new Wii [crack up!], watching pretty big storms go over the lake, getting eaten alive by bugs and all itching together.

Here are some photographs of wildlife we've come across and other things I've found to be interesting around the area.
